The William Penn High School Sports Analytics Club is very proud to announce that Sophomore Finance student, Umar Khan, will take part in an sports analytics development opportunity with the Los Angeles Aviators, of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL).
Khan, with the support of club moderator Mr. Jesse McNulty, and Mr. James Park, Owner of the Los Angeles Aviators, will work to develop analytics in the growing sport of Ultimate Disc, and use the data to provide insight to players and staff.
The Los Angeles Aviators are the 22nd team to join the American Ultimate Disc League. The mission is to build a competitive team, provide a platform to elevate the visibility of the sport and all the positive values it holds as well as expand opportunities for new players and kids to play and learn about this exciting game we simply call “Ultimate”.
We are extremely excited for this opportunity to work in a fast-paced game that is certainly growing nationwide!
The WPHS Sports Analytics Club is very proud to announce we have partnered with the William Penn High School Women’s Basketball team to provide health analytics with the use of Polar H7 Heart Rate Monitors, and the Polar Team Plus iPad application.
Kayla Day, a freshman medical laboratory student in the WPHS STEM College will be heading this project for the team. We are very proud of this opportunity, and look forward to serving the team in their goals to gain a competitive advantage!
